Like many other countries in Central and Southeast Europe, in Serbia the education system provides free compulsory education from 6 to 15 years. Education begins in elementary school, and then students can continue their education in high school until the age of 19. After that, they can go to higher education, which may consist of a college, university, art school or professional college.
As an expatriate, your children will have the right to the full use of the local public school system while living in Serbia. However, if you prefer, there are several international schools and colleges that offer lessons in English or other languages.
