Some facts about life in Serbia

Education In Serbia

Like many other countries in Central and Southeast Europe, in Serbia the education system provides free compulsory education from 6 to 15 years. Education begins in elementary school, and then students can continue their education in high school until the age of 19. After that, they can go to higher education, which may consist of a college, university, art school or professional college.

As an expatriate, your children will have the right to the full use of the local public school system while living in Serbia. However, if you prefer, there are several international schools and colleges that offer lessons in English or other languages. Many of them are located in the capital of Belgrade, including the International School of Belgrade and the British International School, these are just a few examples.

Medicine In Serbia

As a foreign citizen residing and working in Serbia, you can use the MHI policy if you work and pay the necessary insurance contributions.

Many doctors and nurses in large cities speak English, but it is important to see this before making a visit. There is also a large network of private hospitals and doctors that can provide a higher level of medical care. However, due to the fact that many hospitals lack medical supplies and equipment, many foreign citizens prefer to seek serious treatment or operations in other nearby countries with better health conditions.
